Germany-based identity verification specialist IDnow is celebrating continuing success in the United Kingdom market. In a newly issued statement, the company boasted that it “has grown eightfold year-over-year” in the UK.
The company opened offices in London and Manchester in 2019, and engaged in discussions with the British government about the possibility of developing a COVID-19 immunity credential. The company went on to report new hires and a 1,400 percent increase in order intakes the following year.
A private company, IDnow is not burdened with the obligation of providing comprehensive financial data, and the timeframe for its newly reported eightfold growth in the UK is unclear, nor is it clear whether its growth refers to revenues, bookings, or some other metric. But the company clearly has some momentum, having acquired selfie-based identity verification specialist ARIADNEXT earlier this year; and the company’s management are adamant about a very positive growth trend in the UK.
“We’re seeing a significant rise in demand for our services from the UK market this year,” asserted IDnow CEO Andreas Bodczek, adding that the COVID-19 pandemic pushed many organizations into accelerating digital transformation, which in turn entailed rising demand for strong authentication security.
Indeed, these trends have resulted in considerable success for the entire selfie biometrics segment, with multiple vendors having reported large increases in revenues and bookings in recent months.
“Since we launched into the UK in 2019, we’ve seen consistent growth, as businesses look to deploy the most secure digital onboarding processes possible,” explained IDnow UK&I Director Roger Tyrzyk, “As digitisation continues at pace, we are expecting this demand to continue to grow and as a result, will be looking to further invest in our UK presence, with plans to create more jobs over the next 12 months.”
