IDfy Appoints Raghuraman Chandrashekhar as Philippines Country Head to Deepen Southeast Asia Expansion

Indian digital identity verification firm IDfy has appointed Raghuraman Chandrashekhar as Country Head for the Philippines, effective April 2026, as the company deepens its footprint in Southeast Asia. Chandrashekhar, known professionally as Raghu, brings a background in working with Philippine enterprises on digital transformation initiatives and will lead IDfy’s local operations, build partnerships with financial institutions, and deliver localised identity verification and fraud prevention solutions.

IDfy already serves several major Philippine institutions, including BDO, BPI, RCBC, GoTyme Bank, and Angkas. The company’s Philippines product portfolio spans digital onboarding, risk intelligence, fraud prevention, and identity verification for banks, fintechs, and digital platforms. The Philippines appointment follows IDfy’s 52 million dollar funding round announced in February 2026, which the company earmarked for expanding its digital trust services across regulated markets.

The Philippines’ national digital ID expansion has pushed financial institutions to adopt verification-compatible onboarding solutions, the market IDfy is targeting with the new role. Among the opportunities Chandrashekhar will pursue is the segment of Philippine banks integrating national ID into lending decisions, where IDfy’s risk intelligence tools can add compliance value.

Wriju Ray, Global Chief Business Officer of IDfy, cited the Philippines’ “relentless digitization” and the need for products tailored for the local market as drivers for the dedicated leadership appointment. Chandrashekhar stated: “The Philippine financial ecosystem is entering a powerful new phase with a fundamental shift toward secure, seamless, and compliant digital interactions. The opportunity to build trust at scale has never been greater.”

Chandrashekhar will also be able to reference IDfy’s SOC 2 Type II certification when pursuing regulated Philippine financial institution clients, as banks such as BDO and BPI increasingly require third-party security attestations from identity service providers.

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas has progressively mandated digital onboarding standards for licensed financial institutions, and the national ID system known as PhilSys is expanding in parallel. IDfy’s existing client relationships across BDO, BPI, RCBC, GoTyme Bank, and Angkas give Chandrashekhar an established base for expansion into adjacent verticals including insurance, consumer lending, and gig economy platforms.
