IDEX is sampling its smart card sensors with new clients, the company says.
In a statement, IDEX did not name the clients in question, saying only that they comprise “several new card integrators in Asia Pacific”, and that they are looking to government ID and access control applications. Commenting further, IDEX CEO Dr. Hemant Mardia said IDEX is “receiving strong interest… from a range of large-scale end-customers and ecosystem partners.”
The announcement points to a realization of IDEX’s prediction in its half-year corporate update that “several additional customers” would start sampling its smart card sensor technology “during the second half of 2017.” The company says its solutions include flexible biometrics sensors designed for smart cards, as well as biometric modules and “an ultra-compact matcher algorithm optimized for biometric cards.”
News of the new clients comes in the same week that IDEX announced a planned ‘Capital Markets Day‘ event in London—where its executive team will deliver presentations and meet with interested investors—and should offer IDEX’s representatives some useful talking points.
