“The appointment’s official announcement arrives alongside that of IDEX’s name change, with the company’s formal moniker switching from IDEX ASA to IDEX Biometrics ASA…”
IDEX Biometrics has officially announced the appointment of the latest member of its Board of Directors, Stephen Skaggs.
Elected as the Board’s fifth member at this month’s Annual General Meeting, Skaggs joins Deborah Davis, Hanne Høvding, and Lawrence John Ciaccia, who were all re-elected, as well as Morten Opstad, who has retained his position as Chairman.
In a statement formally announcing Skaggs’ appointment, IDEX has now laid out the case for why he’s such a good fit, emphasizing his 25 years of experience in the semiconductor industry. Skaggs spent over 15 years with Lattice Semiconductor, serving as CEO for two of them; and more recently he served as an SVP of microcontroller specialist Atmel for almost six years. Earlier in his career, Skaggs also worked for Bain & Company, where he “specialized in high tech product strategy, mergers and acquisitions and corporate restructurings,” IDEX’s statement noted.
“We are delighted to have someone of Stephen’s vast financial and operational experience joining the IDEX board,” commented Opstad. “His addition will bring a wealth of industry insight and ensure IDEX remains well placed to create significant value for its stakeholders.”
The appointment’s official announcement arrives alongside that of IDEX’s name change, with the company’s formal moniker switching from IDEX ASA to IDEX Biometrics ASA to better reflect its technological specialization.
