IDEX Biometrics will be making an appearance at the APSCA’s third annual Next-Generation Cards conference and exposition in Singapore. The event will run from October 15-16, and will focus on the evolving payment and identity card ecosystem facing card issuers and manufacturers.
To that end, Hunter Hu will be giving a presentation about biometric smart cards during the event. Hu is IDEX’s VP for Sales in Asia, and will also be participating in a panel about customer enrollment.
The talks are in keeping with IDEX’s recent interest in a cashless future. The company recently explained how biometric technology can help reduce a society’s dependence on paper money, with biometric identifiers like fingerprints enabling secure digital transactions.
IDEX, of course, is a leading provider of fingerprint sensors for payment cards. The company has boasted about its performance in independent testing, and has partnered with companies like Silone Cardtech to move towards the mass production of biometric cards.
IDEX Biometrics will be showcasing its wares at Stand No. 5 at the Next-Generation Cards Conference. The fingerprint specialist highlighted its smart card progress in its Q2 fiscal update, after which a pair of IDEX executives made large share purchases in the company.
