IDEX Biometrics has entered a strategic partnership with Savyint Group, a Vietnamese digital identity and trust services provider, to expand its biometric access control solutions in Southeast Asia. Under the agreement, Savyint becomes IDEX’s first official technology partner for its next-generation biometric access card products. The collaboration marks a significant regional move for IDEX, which has recently reoriented its focus toward access control systems and away from payment card technologies.
Expanding Access Control in Southeast Asia
The new partnership will see the rollout of IDEX’s biometric FIDO Access cards across Vietnam and neighboring markets in Southeast Asia. These cards offer fingerprint authentication and support FIDO protocols, providing organizations with secure, passwordless login experiences. Target sectors for deployment include financial services, government institutions, healthcare systems, enterprise networks, and educational environments. Savyint’s existing client base and regional footprint are expected to accelerate adoption.
The partnership follows IDEX’s recent strategic pivot toward the access control space. Announced earlier this year, the company’s shift reflects growing market demand for biometric-based security infrastructure. With phishing attacks and identity theft on the rise, many organizations are moving to eliminate passwords and adopt zero-trust security frameworks. This regional expansion offers IDEX a foothold in an area experiencing rapid digital transformation.
Market Context and Industry Growth
Projections for the global digital identity solutions market indicate robust growth over the next several years. Industry analysts forecast that the market will grow from $43.07 billion in 2025 to $153.63 billion by 2032. The FIDO authentication segment alone is expected to reach $5.72 billion by 2029, growing at a compound annual rate of 24.4 percent. This growth is being driven by a convergence of security concerns, enterprise digitalization, and standardization efforts across authentication protocols.
In Southeast Asia, demand for advanced digital identity solutions is especially strong as governments and enterprises increase investment in secure authentication infrastructure. The IDEX–Savyint partnership aims to meet this demand with a scalable, privacy-focused biometric solution that aligns with global interoperability standards. Recent developments such as progress in FIDO Alliance specifications underscore the growing relevance of these technologies in a range of public and private sector contexts.
While financial terms of the partnership have not been disclosed, both companies describe the agreement as a strategic milestone. IDEX gains its first direct technology partner in the Southeast Asian market, positioning it for further international expansion. Savyint enhances its portfolio with biometric authentication solutions that are increasingly in demand among digital-first organizations. Together, the two firms will work to address a growing need for secure, decentralized identity solutions in one of the world’s most dynamic technology markets.
