“And beyond Trustech, other companies have been hard at work on their own such offerings…”
Trustech 2016 has just wrapped up, and IDEX is reporting considerable success in its efforts to showcase its biometric smart card technology at the event. In a statement from the company, CEO Hemant Mardia says IDEX “received massive interest from both potential customers and ecosystem partners at the conference,” adding that the company saw “several requests for trial products from banks and governmental entities”.
IDEX was one of a few companies looking to stake a claim in biometric smart cards at the event. NEXT Biometrics was also showcasing its offerings, as was UK-based FlexEnable. And beyond Trustech, other companies have been hard at work on their own such offerings, with Neurotechnology having announced last month that its MegaMatcher On Card biometric software passed a major NIST test, and Fingerprint Cards announcing its new line of smart card fingerprint sensors just this week.
For its part, IDEX has a big-name partner in Safran Identity & Security, which may have helped to raise its profile in this increasingly hot market. Mardia says the company has already shipped some sensors for client trials, and that his company anticipates volume shipments in the latter half of next year.
