IDEX Biometrics has announced multiple changes in its executive-level leadership structure.
Two of the changes stem from the creation of a new position within the company – Chief Innovation Officer. Fred Benkley, who previously served as IDEX’s Chief Technology Officer, has stepped into this role; and consequently Anthony Eaton, previously the VP of Systems Engineering, is now the new CTO.
In a statement announcing the changes, IDEX explained that in the new Chief Innovation Officer position, Benkley “will focus on strategic technology development to enable the next generation of best in class biometric products.”
Meanwhile, Henrik Knudtzon, the company’s longstanding Chief Financial Officer, is going to “transition into an advisory role” on June 1st, with IDEX’s leadership currently looking to fill the position with a new hire based in the US.
The announcement of the changes comes shortly after IDEX’s Q4 and year-end report for 2018, in which CEO Stan Swearingen emphasized the company’s preparations to commercialize its biometric payment card technology. Swearingen struck a similar note in commenting on the new executive changes, asserting, “I’m very proud of the strength of the team we have at IDEX, and the changes will ensure that we are fully prepared for the next phase of our commercialization journey.”
“I would especially like to thank Henrik for his valuable contributions to IDEX for almost five years,” Swearingen added.
