Identity verification is the key theme of this week’s roundup of FindBiometrics’ top stories, with an assortment dominated by discussion of remote onboarding technology. And it isn’t just news articles that attracted attention.
An on-demand video, for one, received a great deal of interest from the FindBiometrics audience. FindBiometrics’ ID Talk Podcast also got some time in the spotlight this week, with the FindBiometrics audience showing sustained interest in an episode focused on emerging mobile ID technology. HID Global VP of Product Marketing Helmut Dansachmüller appeared on the show to talk with Peter Counter about how his company has helped to pioneer mobile ID with the Apple Wallet, and about Apple’s plans to integrate mobile driver’s licenses into its wallet app in the near future:

Speaking of mobile ID, the topic attracted a lot of readers via FaceTec’s news that it had upgraded its biometric Software Development Kit. The company brought a number of improvements to its face authentication SDK, with CEO Kevin Alan Tussy emphasizing its utility in verifying the identities of end users signing up for mobile ID platforms:

Another selfie onboarding specialist, Socure, garnered interest with its new Predictive Document Verification tool, which adds an extra layer of risk scoring to Socure’s facial recognition-based solution. In addition to matching an end user’s face to a given identity document, the new tool will also use information from the ID to check for signs of fraud risk, for example by verifying data against telecom records:

And finally, FindBiometrics visitors couldn’t resist reading up on yet another data breach incident. In this case, the major slot machine operator Dotty’s reported that a malware attack exposed a range of customer data, including financial, health insurance, and biometric information:
