iDenfy Picks Up New Customer and a Baltic Innovation Award

iDenfy is being recognized for its pioneering contributions to the Baltic economy and the identity verification market more generally. In that regard, the Lithuanian company received a Baltic Innovation Prize from the Baltic Assembly during a ceremony that took place at the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania in Vilnius on November 4.

The annual ceremony dates back to 1992, and was set up to recognize Baltic accomplishments in fields ranging from literature and the arts to science and technology. iDenfy has rapidly become one of the world’s leading identity verification providers since setting up shop in 2017, and received the award for its efforts to make identity and fraud prevention tech more readily accessible to the public, and for facilitating cooperation within the Baltic region.

As it stands, iDenfy has more than 300 clients all over the world, and it has argued that the Lithuanian government can use its face and document recognition solutions to scan people at the border and clamp down on illegal immigration between Baltic states. It has also pitched its technology to the UK’s NHSX unit, suggesting that it can help with quarantine tracking and accelerate the development of immunity passports.

“It’s a great honor to receive the Baltic Innovation Prize,” said iDenfy Chief Business Development Officer Darius Šultė. “It shows that, as a company, we are moving in the right direction.”

In other news, iDenfy has picked up a new customer in the mobility sector. Wind is an e-scooter company that is trying to reduce congestion and pollution in large urban areas, and it will now be using iDenfy’s solution to onboard new users of its platform. Customers will be asked to take a photo of their ID when they sign up for the service remotely, and iDenfy will analyze the document to make sure that it is legitimate and that its holder is old enough to drive a scooter.

The document scan can be completed in as little as 0.02 seconds. Wind itself has promised that those who use its service will be contributing to reforestation efforts.

“Eco-friendly means of transportation are rising in demand, and it is a pleasure to contribute to a company providing the supply,” said iDenfy CEO Domantas Ciulde. “With iDenfy’s ID verification, the customer onboarding process will be seamless and reliable.”

Pure M Global and Sparlay are some of the other businesses that have adopted iDenfy’s technology in the past few months. Wind, meanwhile, is one of several scooter start-ups that is implementing biometric onboarding technology, joining a list that already includes Dott and Voi Technology.
