ISC West 2018: IDEMIA Announces Compact Version of Acclaimed MorphoWave Scanner

IDEMIA has announced a new, compact version of its MorphoWave biometric scanner.

The company says its MorphoWave Compact device is 86 percent smaller than the original MorphoWave Tower. Like its precursor, the device is designed to enable contactless fingerprint scanning, capturing four fingerprints as a user’s hand is waved over the scanner.

It’s a good time for the company to pitch its new offering, given the recent announcement that the MorphoWave brought IDEMIA awards in three different categories in the The Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity (IARPA) Nail to Nail (N2N) Fingerprint Challenge, a government initiative aimed at fostering innovation in the development of biometric technology that can scan an entire fingerprint, nail bed to nail bed.

In a statement announcing the MorphoWave Compact, IDEMIA Citizen Identity and Public Security EVP Philippe Barreau emphasized the MorphoWave track record. “The overwhelming success of our MorphoWave Tower in major Fortune 500 companies across the globe – such as, so far, corporate headquarters, large manufacturing sites, prestigious universities, and some of the largest banks and financial institutions around the globe – not only proves the technology delivers on its promise, but also confirms the potential and hunger to use it everywhere,” he asserted.

IDEMIA announced the new solution at this year’s ISC West in Las Vegas, where FindBiometrics is reporting live from the show floor.
