“The developments are in step with broader growth trends in Latin America’s biometric technology sector…”
France-based ID3 has become an authorized biometric operator in Colombia.
The company says its biometric fingerprint recognition technology has been securing daily transactions from about a thousand solicitors’ offices in the country since February of 2015. Having this established a strong track record in the country, it has now been granted “biometric operator status” by the Colombian National Civil Registry office, according to a statement from the company. And this, ID3 says, opens the door to “the development of a range of projects requiring strong, secure and validated authentication by the highest Colombian authorities.”
In anticipation of those opportunities, ID3 has established a new branch in Bogotá, the country’s capital, dubbed ‘ID3 LATAM’. But the company isn’t just looking at local opportunities, with ID3 CEO Jean-Louis Revol asserting that the new office will help the company to address projects in Colombia “as well as the development and implementation of future challenges in neighbouring countries.”
The developments are in step with broader growth trends in Latin America’s biometric technology sector, with multiple other firms have recently opened offices in the region to explore current and emerging opportunities.
