ID Dataweb Appoints Torsten George as Its First Chief Marketing Officer

ID Dataweb has appointed Dr. Torsten George as the company’s first chief marketing officer, tasking him with leading global marketing and demand generation for its identity threat detection platform. The company positions the move as part of a broader push to expand its SaaS platform across regulated industries where identity and account fraud are growing concerns.

In announcing the appointment, ID Dataweb described itself as a leader in identity threat detection and risk mitigation. The company said the new CMO role will help sharpen brand positioning, messaging, pricing, and market expansion as it looks to increase adoption of its platform.

George will oversee global marketing and demand generation, and he will be responsible for aligning the company’s go-to-market strategy with growth goals. The appointment signals a shift toward scaling marketing operations and refining how the company communicates its identity threat detection capabilities to customers.

ID Dataweb cited target industries that include financial services, insurance, healthcare, travel, hospitality, and the public sector. The company frames these sectors as areas where identity risk and account takeover are high-priority challenges for both workforce and customer-facing systems.

CEO Dave Coxe said, “Torsten’s strategic marketing acumen, combined with his deep cybersecurity expertise, make him an ideal fit to help lead ID Dataweb into its next phase of growth. His leadership will be instrumental in accelerating our momentum and helping more organizations stay ahead of identity and account-related threats while maintaining a seamless experience for their workforce, third parties, and customers.”

George said, “Protecting every digital interaction from identity and account-related threats – while enabling seamless, secure experiences – has never been more critical. Credential-only authentication is no longer sufficient to combat identity-related attacks.”

ID Dataweb has been expanding its identity ecosystem through integrations and partnerships, including an integration with Microsoft Entra Verified ID, a strategic alliance with SDG Corporation to fight fraud, and a partnership with Lumin Digital to secure digital banking. The CMO appointment signals a marketing push aligned with those product and partner moves.

The appointment reflects the growing attention companies are giving to identity threat detection as part of cybersecurity strategy. By adding a first CMO, ID Dataweb is emphasizing market expansion and positioning its platform for broader adoption in industries with stringent compliance and identity assurance requirements.
