“Together with Zwipe we will bring a new payment solution that will help financial institutions to differentiate their services, provide safer and much more secure payment solutions and uplift customer loyalty.” – Khevin Seebah, CEO, ICPS
Zwipe has added another company to its growing partner network. ICPS, a Mauritius-based firm specializing in card payments processing and card personalization, has signed on to extend the reach of Zwipe’s biometric card solution in Africa and Southeast Asia.
ICPS serves over 30 clients across 22 counties in those regions, and processes more than 10 million transactions per month on its platform, which encompasses 600 ATMs, 11,000 POS terminals, and over 6 million cards. It could therefore prove to be a significant help in promoting Zwipe Pay ONE in Africa and Southeast Asia.
Zwipe Pay ONE is, of course, Zwipe’s flagship ‘Single Silicon Biometric Systems on Card’ solution, designed to enable fingerprint-scanning and biometric matching on a payment card during a transaction. The company’s CEO, André Løvestam, demonstrated the solution in a video published by the company earlier this year, emphasizing its security and ease of use.
In a statement announcing the new partnership, ICPS CEO Khevin Seebah called Zwipe “a well-regarded technology brand in the biometric payment space”, and emphasized the appealing innovation of its technology.
“As a provider of innovative payment services in the African continent, we pride ourselves in delivering future proof innovations,” he explained. “Together with Zwipe we will bring a new payment solution that will help financial institutions to differentiate their services, provide safer and much more secure payment solutions and uplift customer loyalty.”
For his part, Løvestam lauded ICPC for its “strong position among financial institutions across Africa and Asia,” adding that he expects theirs will be “a mutually rewarding relationship.”
Zwipe’s global reach was a key focus in Løvestam’s recent letter to shareholders, in which he also emphasized that Zwipe Pay ONE had “passed most critical milestones and major risk points” with respect to its technological development, and is on track for piloting and certification ahead of mass commercialization.
