Iberia Airline Offers VeriFLY Service on Flights to the US

Another airline is using Daon’s VeriFly app to make sure that international travelers are complying with the COVID-19 health requirements at their destinations. This time around, Iberia is the airline offering VeriFLY service on all flights to the United States.

The Iberia program will begin with a two-month pilot, after which it will be re-evaluated. As has been the case in other trials, participation in the program is optional, so passengers can still choose to present physical documents at security checkpoints instead of using the app.

VeriFLY is available on iOS and Android devices, and allows users to link their travel credentials to their vaccination status and COVID-19 test results. The app lets travelers know what documents they will need to show when they arrive in the United States, giving them an opportunity to get their paperwork in order before they go to the airport and board a plane.

VeriFLY users are asked to submit a photo when registering their account. Those that do sign up will enjoy an expedited screening process as they move through the airport.

Iberia is now one of several airlines offering support for VeriFLY. The app debuted with American Airlines in November, though it was initially only available on flights to select destinations in Latin America. The service has since expanded to cover all inbound flights to the US, while British Airways is offering support for flights to the US and the United Kingdom. Alaska Airlines is also offering VeriFLY to international travelers to the US.
