HYPR is the latest company to be appointed to the Board of Directors for the FIDO Alliance, with company co-founder and CTO Bojan Simic stepping up to serve as HYPR’s official delegate.
“HYPR believes that FIDO standards provide enterprises with a powerful framework for securing their customers and employees without the use of passwords,” said Simic. “We look forward to working with the FIDO board to accelerate adoption and improve security internet-wide.”
As a member of the Board of Directors, HYPR will do its part to develop and promote secure password-free authentication standards. The company has been a member of the FIDO Alliance since 2015, and previously received FIDO certification for the server component of its biometric authentication platform.
“As one of the earliest innovators of FIDO solutions, HYPR brings significant in-market expertise and perspective to FIDO’s board of directors, which will help inform our collective efforts to move the world beyond passwords,” added FIDO Alliance Chief Marketing Officer Andrew Shikiar.
The HYPR Authentication Platform is a cloud-based and cross-platform solution that replaces passwords with device-based authentication. The company itself is one of several new additions to the FIDO board, with eWBM and Onfido also having received a similar vote of confidence in recent months.
