Biometrics-as-a-platform developer HYPR Corp. is bolstering its executive talent with two new additions to its team. In a statement, CEO George Avetisov suggested that both new appointees “bring experience and knowledge that is invaluable to the HYPR team as we amplify our core offering of biometric authentication to a diverse array of enterprise customers.”
Dimitri Sirota is signing on as a board advisor. He cofounded Layer 7 Technologies, an enterprise security products developer that was acquired by CA Technologies a couple of years ago. Meanwhile, David Raviv will be acting as the new head of strategic alliances. Having previously worked with FishNet Security, Code Green Networks, Proofpoint Inc., and Herjavec Group, Raviv most recently founded the NY Information Security Meetup, and presumably will leverage his many connections in fostering partnerships between HYPR and other organizations.
The appointments, and particularly that of Raviv, suggest that HYPR sees a high value in strategic partnerships and other kinds of industry outreach – an attitude corroborated by its having joined the FIDO Alliance earlier this year. Given Sirota’s expertise in the enterprise security industry, he may also prove instrumental in helping HYPR to promote its recently launched Biometric Security Integration Kit, which could high strong appeal to companies embracing the Internet of Things. That, in turn, could lead to some good business for the company, given the massive potential in the IoT market.
