“…Huawei remains one of FPC’s most loyal clients, with the sensor maker having specifically highlighted it, among a few other smartphone OEMs, in its recent corporate update.”
The biometric capabilities of more new Huawei smartphones are once again being powered by technology from Fingerprint Cards and Precise Biometrics. The new P9 Lite and Gr5 each feature an FPC1025 sensor running on Precise BioMatch Mobile algorithm software.
The integrations follow numerous others. FPC and Precise Biometrics technology have been integrated in the Huawei MediaPad T2 7.0, announced just last week, and in other recent devices such as the GX8 announced at the start of this year.
A third new Huawei device, the G9 Plus, also features an FPC1025 sensor, though Precise Biometrics hasn’t made any announcement regarding its software being used in that smartphone. In any case, Huawei remains one of FPC’s most loyal clients, with the sensor maker having specifically highlighted it, among a few other smartphone OEMs, in its recent corporate update.
The new integrations highlight not only the friendly business relations between these three companies, but the biometrics boom underway more broadly as mobile device makers increasingly incorporate fingerprint scanning technology into their new devices.
