Identity verification and authentication company Onfido has announced a partnership with global human resource outsourcing provider (HRO) Neeyamo Inc. that will allow the latter to perform remote candidate identity checks.
Through this partnership, Neeyamo will be able to utilize Onfido’s real-time artificial intelligence-driven tech to check whether a document is genuine or potentially fraudulent.
Neeyamo’s clients will be able to ask potential job candidates to take a picture of their ID using their smartphone, and verify its authenticity remotely by comparing it to the individual’s face biometrics. This has the potential to reduce turnaround time and simplify the vetting process.
“We are pleased to leverage Onfido’s best-in-class technology that will further cement our ability to provide identity verification as a solution to our global customers,” said Vice President of Strategy at Neeyamo, Samuel Issac. “This partnership and our integrated solution coupled with our deep domain expertise will equip us to help our customers quickly establish their candidates’ legitimate online identity.”
Neeyamo provides background screening services in 190 different countries around the world, while being among the industry pioneers in offering international pre-employment screening services.
“As businesses adapt to support their employees and customers remotely, there shouldn’t have to be a choice between either user convenience or strong fraud protection [as] they should be able to maximize both,” said Husayn Kassai, CEO and Co-founder of Onfido. “We bring trust to digital interactions worldwide, and we’re pleased to partner with Neeyamo to deliver a user-friendly automated onboarding process that’s as rapid as it is robust and intelligent in detecting and preventing fraudulent attempts.”
Onfido recently partnered with remote e-signature company Scrive to incorporate its selfie authentication solution, in a move that has the potential to help thousands more people in Europe register for electronic IDs.
