Huawei’s Honor 10 smartphone has made it to Indonesia.
At a launch event this week, Huawei subsidiary Honor Indonesia placed a strong emphasis on the device’s artificial intelligence technology, officially announcing the device with the tagline “Beauty in AI”. Its sophisticated AI has been applied mainly in the area of imaging, with its 24MP and 16MP dual-lens system designed to identify things like plants, geographic details, and even people. And by identifying the various features in a given shot, Huawei says, its system can automatically customize settings to optimize the photo aesthetically.
The other standout feature of the device is its under-glass, ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. The sensor was provided by Qualcomm, with algorithm software delivered by Precise Biometrics; and while it’s not one of the handful of groundbreaking in-display sensor implementations to arrive this year, it has allowed Huawei to proceed with a sleek, glass-centric design for the smartphone.
Other features of the Honor 10 include an NPU processor, 4GB of RAM, a 3,400 mAh battery, and an EMUI 8.0 interface. Indonesians will be able to preorder the Honor 10 starting August 6th, priced at IDR 6,999,000 (roughly $482 USD), with the device to hit the market about a week after that.
