Hire ID has launched Hire ID Profile, a verified professional identity platform designed to replace the traditional resume with a portable, candidate-controlled record of identity and credentials. The platform combines identity verification, employment and education credential checks, and deepfake detection.
Hire ID Profile is built around the idea of a reusable professional identity. Rather than submitting a resume whose claims an employer must verify after the fact, a candidate builds a profile in which identity, past employment, and education credentials are checked once and recorded in a tamper-resistant verification ledger. Recruiters can then access pre-verified credentials through candidate-controlled, recruiter-specific sharing permissions, without repeating a full background check for every application.
The platform’s deepfake detection is aimed at a newer hiring risk: AI-generated faces and video used to impersonate candidates in remote identity checks and interviews. Hire ID says its system analyzes facial geometry, micro-expressions, liveness signals, and document integrity in real time, and reports accuracy above 96 percent on independent benchmarks.
Hire ID frames the launch around what its founder, Hemanth Kumar, describes as a trust crisis rather than a talent shortage in hiring. The company cites figures putting United States business losses to resume fraud at an estimated 600 billion dollars annually, with 44 percent of candidates admitting to misrepresentation, 55 percent of IT professionals reported to have falsified credentials, and credential discrepancy rates reaching 30 percent in technology roles.
The product enters a market where biometric verification is increasingly being applied to recruitment. Vendors have moved to address the same exposure, including authID’s partnership with TurboCheck on biometric hiring verification and Glider AI’s ID Verify, which uses facial recognition and liveness detection to screen candidates. Hire ID’s approach differs in packaging that verification as a persistent profile the candidate carries between applications rather than a one-time check run by each employer.
