Glider AI has introduced ID Verify, a biometric identity verification solution designed to prevent hiring fraud and address emerging national security risks associated with digital recruitment. Integrated into Glider AI’s existing hiring platform, the new tool uses facial recognition and liveness detection to confirm that job candidates are who they claim to be, with the aim of helping organizations guard against deepfakes, synthetic identities, and insider threats.
Responding to Rising Threats in Remote Hiring
The launch of ID Verify comes at a time when businesses are increasingly vulnerable to fraudulent activity in remote hiring environments. Advances in generative AI have made it easier for bad actors to manipulate digital identities, particularly during video interviews or onboarding sessions. According to a recent Deloitte report, deepfake-related financial fraud could result in global losses of up to $40 billion by 2027.
The technology builds on Glider AI’s findings that candidate fraud has surged 92 percent since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. From fake credentials to identity spoofing and AI-generated video interviews, the landscape of recruitment fraud has grown increasingly sophisticated—outpacing traditional background checks and manual screening methods.
Integration with AI and Biometric Technology
ID Verify operates within the Glider AI talent quality platform, which is used by staffing firms, federal contractors, and enterprises to evaluate job candidates. The system uses biometric face matching, document verification, and liveness detection to authenticate identities during the hiring process without adding friction to the candidate experience.
The launch reflects a growing industry trend toward integrating biometric security in recruitment. Earlier this year, authID partnered with TurboCheck to offer biometric verification tools aimed at curbing hiring fraud – highlighting increasing industry consensus around the need for stronger, tech-driven safeguards.
