HID Global has announced improvements to its Lumidigm M-Series fingerprint recognition sensors.
The M31x streaming solutions now offer stronger 1:N and 1:1 fingerprint matching on USB hosts, via Lumidigm SDK 6.1. Meanwhile, the M32x devices for embedded applications, offering on-device biometric matching, now have a twice as powerful 1:N search capability, and support for ANSI 378 and ISO 19794-2 templates with a MINEX III certified biometric algorithm.
In a statement announcing the improved solutions, HID Global Senior Director of Product Marketing Mike Chaudoin asserted that the sensors offer “reliable image capture for users in all conditions and high-performance liveness detection” that can fight fraud.
The upgrades come soon after those announced for HID Global’s V-Series fingerprint readers last autumn. Together with the OSM Multitech smart card announced in November, they indicate a strong drive for technological evolution on the part of HID Global.
