Carium is celebrating the initial success of its partnership with Health Logx. Health Logx is a provider of virtual healthcare services, and has now been using Carium’s app to track patient data for the past six months.
Over that time, the two companies have observed a dramatic increase in engagement levels, with Carium reporting that 89.7 percent of patients have used the app to become more active participants in their own healthcare journeys. For example, patients can interact with their doctors through phone, video, or text chats. They can also fill out surveys or take advantage of journaling and nutrition logs that make it easier to track their progress.
According to Carium, those features have led directly to better health outcomes for patients. The overwhelming majority (96 percent) of Health Logx patients lost weight in the first three months of the program, while every patient (a full 100 percent) now has lower blood sugar. Systolic Blood Pressure was similarly down 12 mmHg on average.
The Carium app is accessible through the web or a mobile device, and automatically updates and consolidates the information gathered from connected health monitors like scales, blood pressure cuffs, and activity trackers. In doing so, it provides patients and doctors with more accurate medical information, enabling a more responsive level of care between appointments.
“Now, more than ever, we’re seeing the need for telehealth solutions that maintain human connection,” said Carium CEO Scott Pradels.
“Using Carium enables clinicians to identify and manage abnormal trends in real-time, yielding improved outcomes quicker, increased patient engagement, and reduced healthcare costs,” added Health Logx Founder Angela Stevens. “I can’t imagine going back to the traditional practice only working with patients during an in person visit.”
Carium recently outfitted Perfect Care with technology to help monitor patients recovering from surgery. Several healthcare providers have noted that COVID-19 created more demand for remote patient monitoring services. Reliq, meanwhile, has released a speech recognition solution that allows patients to share data from devices that are not connected to the internet.
