Hancom WITH has launched Hancom xCAuth, an AI-driven continuous authentication platform designed to assess user risk throughout an active session rather than only at login. The South Korean information security company is positioning the product for zero-trust environments in public-sector, financial, and enterprise settings, a market where local vendors have also been pursuing zero-trust cloud security and biometric authentication projects.
The system analyzes contextual information including user behavior, environment, and device signals in real time. Reported inputs include physical context such as indoor and outdoor location, device and network information, Bluetooth signals, and behavioral or biometric information such as keystroke patterns, touch gestures, and facial features.
Hancom xCAuth is designed to quantify trust indicators from those signals and continue evaluating changes after the user has logged in. When the system detects signs of risk, it can apply additional adaptive multi-factor authentication according to dynamic security policies, reducing repeated authentication for lower-risk activity while increasing checks when conditions change.
The company says the platform uses on-device AI to process data collection, training, and evaluation on the user’s device. That architecture is intended to reduce leakage risk for biometric and behavioral data and lower operational cost burdens for organizations deploying the system.
Hancom WITH tied the launch to South Korea’s shift toward zero-trust security and the National Network Security Framework, which applies differentiated security levels based on the importance of information assets. The company said it plans to apply xCAuth in the operations of Hana Tour, a client company.
The launch sits alongside Hancom WITH’s quantum-security work. The company says it has applied NIST-standard post-quantum cryptography algorithms to its data encryption product line and plans to expand into lightweight cryptographic modules for embedded systems and installation-free web-segment encryption products.
Continuous authentication is increasingly being used to reduce the gap between a successful login and the rest of a user’s session. Hancom WITH’s approach combines behavioral signals, device context, and adaptive authentication to keep reassessing whether the active user and device still match the expected risk profile.
The product also places facial and behavioral signals in a continuous risk model rather than using them only as one-time login factors. That distinction is central to Hancom WITH’s positioning of xCAuth as a zero-trust tool for active-session monitoring.
