Industrial internet of things (IoT) safety technology company Guardhat has announced a partnership with Atlanta-based real-time biometric monitoring startup FireHUD, Inc.
The partnership will see FireHUD’s Biotrac monitoring system integrated into Guardhat’s KYRA platform to enable it to send and receive instant alerts in the event of an accident, to notify groups of workers of a lockout zone or of exposure to toxic gases, and more.
FireHUD’s real-time BioTrac platform uses arm-worn devices equipped with biometric sensors to measure and track biometric data such as heart rate, core body temperature, exertion, distance travelled and calories burned, and use them to provide a personalized profile to predict someone’s exertion levels.
“We are incredibly excited to work with Guardhat,” said Zack Braun, FireHUD’s CEO. “Their KYRA platform allows us to easily integrate our real-time physiological monitoring solution into their system in on-premise or cloud scenarios.”
Guardhat’s KYRA platform is a proprietary data control and analysis solution that is designed to allow Guardhat or third-party devices and sensors to communicate directly with individuals instead of having to relay data to remote servers.
“Guardhat’s ultimate goal is to better protect the industrial workforce with advanced safety insight,” said Rony RoyChoudhury, Executive Vice President of Growth at Guardhat. “FireHUD hit the ground running, and their technology brings real-time biometric monitoring to our KYRA platform.”
