“The ID4Africa product showcases come in the wake of Green Bit’s success in IARPA’s N2N Challenge, in which its fingerprint scanning technology won first place in the Gallery Accuracy and Latent Accuracy categories.”
The fourth annual ID4Africa event is taking place in Abuja this week, and Green Bit is taking advantage of the event to showcase its latest fingerprint scanning solutions.
The company will place a particular focus on its MultiScan527t solutions, which it unveiled at last year’s FedID conference. The standard model of the solution features a 3.2″ LCD touchscreen, while the MultiScan527xt features an LED screen and a simplified user interface. Both fingerprint scanners support USB 3.0 connectivity.
Also in the spotlight will be Green Bit’s MiScan50, the first of a new family of Green Bit Thin-Film-Transistor scanners. In a statement announcing its ID4Africa plans, Green Bit explained that the device is only 15.5mm thick and that it’s “FAP 50 certifiable”, with Green Bit COO Sergio Rainero called it “an ultra-low profile, lightweight and small form factor mobile scanner.” The company says a two-finger version of the solution is in the pipeline.
The ID4Africa product showcases come in the wake of Green Bit’s success in IARPA’s N2N Challenge, in which its fingerprint scanning technology won first place in the Gallery Accuracy and Latent Accuracy categories. The company reported “an exceptional response from the market” after its N2N win, and indeed it may help the company to garner further interest in its technologies at ID4Africa this week.
