“Winners were announced last month, with Green Bit’s solution taking first place in the categories of Gallery Accuracy and Latent Accuracy…”
Green Bit‘s recent success in IARPA’s Nail-to-Nail Fingerprint Challenge has produced a big payoff for its business, with the company announcing that it has seen “an exceptional response from the market”.
The Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity’s N2N Challenge was organized to spur private sector firms to develop automated fingerprint scanning technology that can capture an entire fingerprint from nail bed to nail bed without the need for a human operator. Winners were announced last month, with Green Bit’s solution taking first place in the categories of Gallery Accuracy and Latent Accuracy, followed by runners up Jenetric and IDEMIA in both cases.
It appears that Green Bit’s high-profile success did not go unnoticed in the broader market. In a statement, Green Bit USA Sales and Business Development VP Nadia Reid asserted that in the wake of the wins, “we have seen positive feedback from the market which has resulted in a further increase in our sales”.
The company also asserted in its statement that the National Institute of Standards and Technology will soon release detailed data from the N2N Challenge, which should help to shed further light on the particular strengths of the winners’ technologies.
