Goodix has announced that its technology is appearing in two new vivo products. Most notably, the company’s optical in-display fingerprint sensor will be used for biometric authentication in vivo’s X50 Flagship Series of smartphones.
The X50 Flagship Series is one of several vivo smartphones with Goodix fingerprint technology. The optical in-display sensor has already appeared in the iQOO 3 5G and the vivo X3 5G series, both of which debuted within the past twelve months.
The X50 pairs the fingerprint sensor with Goodix’s smart amplifier and audio capture solution. The X3 5G series did not feature any of Goodix’s audio products, although the iQOO 3 boasted Voice Communication Noise Cancellation technology.
The other new vivo product also reflects Goodix’s increasing audio focus. The new TWS Neo Earbuds include a 2-in-1 Goodix solution that delivers in-ear detection and touch controls.
Goodix has steadily expanded its offerings in the past few months, and recently placed heart rate and oxygen monitors in a new realme smartwatch. However, the company is still best known for its in-display fingerprint sensors, which have cropped up in devices from a number of different manufacturers. Highlights include the OnePlus 8 Series and the new P40 Series from Huawei.
