Daon has created the new role of Senior Vice President of Marketing, and filled it with a former Nuance executive, George Skaff.
Skaff has held multiple high-level marketing positions through the course of his career, including VP roles with DocuMagix, NEC Computers Inc., Wyse Technology, and DigitalPersona. He joined TouchCommerce as its Chief Marketing Officer in 2013, and became Nuance’s VP of Worldwide Marketing for its Enterprise Division when Nuance acquired TouchCommerce in 2016. He became the General Manager of Nuance’s Digital Line of Business in 2020.
Skaff will have attained some familiarity with biometric technology while at Nuance, whose portfolio of AI and voice technologies including voice recognition tech. That familiarity will come in handy at Daon, a pioneer in multimodal mobile biometrics.
In commenting on his appointment, Daon CEO Tom Grissen emphasized Skaff’s experience in sales and marketing.

In addition to promoting Daon’s identity security solutions, Skaff is also poised to play an important role in fostering the development of Daon’s business activities in the area of immunity credentials, with the company’s VeriFLY mobile app – featuring facial recognition for user authentication – having been embraced by American Airlines and even beyond the air travel sector.
