HYPR Corp. has been named a “Cool Vendor” by Gartner, the company has announced.
More specifically, the company was among those lauded in Gartner’s new report, “Cool Vendors in Transforming Multichannel to Unified Retail Commerce, 2017”. The plaudit comes soon after HYPR received FIDO certification for the server component of its security platform, which supports numerous biometric modalities for end user authentication, and ensures that biometric data is stored on those users’ own devices, not in a central server.
Commenting in a statement, HYPR CEO George Avetisov said the ‘Cool Vendor’ designation attests “that our solution is mature enough for user populations into the many millions.”
Microsoft Enterprise Security Group VP Ann Johnson also weighed in, saying, “What they are doing for the authentication space really is cool.”
Gartner appears to value technological innovation in naming its ‘Cool Vendors’, with previous honorees including voice biometrics specialist AGNITIO and behavioral biometrics pioneer NuData.
