G-Knot Names Wes Kaplan as CEO to Launch Finger Vein Biometric Wallet

G-Knot, a biometrics technology company, has appointed Wes Kaplan as its new CEO to lead the development of what G-Knot bills as the world’s first finger vein biometric wallet. Kaplan brings extensive experience in fintech and cryptocurrency, having held leadership positions at major financial institutions and digital asset firms.

The appointment comes at a critical time for the digital asset industry, which has lost more than $2 billion in cryptocurrency hacks so far in 2025, including a $1.4 billion breach at Bybit. G-Knot’s finger vein biometric technology aims to deliver stronger security for digital assets, reflecting the broader adoption of vein recognition systems across sectors such as smart home security and enterprise access control.

As the exclusive licensee of Seoul-based eTunnel Inc., G-Knot leverages finger vein biometrics to address common vulnerabilities in cryptocurrency storage, including the risk of compromised private keys and recovery phrases. The company’s work builds on recent advances in the sector, including innovations in smart home security and enterprise-grade vein biometric systems.

Kaplan previously served as CEO of Cointelegraph and held executive roles at AscendEX and Tradewind Markets. His earlier career included positions at major financial institutions such as J.P. Morgan and BNY Mellon, providing him with valuable insights into bridging the gap between traditional finance and decentralized digital assets.

“G-Knot is poised to redefine security in the digital age, and I am thrilled to lead this mission,” Kaplan said. He emphasized that the company’s goal is to create new and more secure pathways for both retail and institutional adoption of cryptocurrency, relying on innovative biometric technologies.

The firm plans to launch a suite of consumer and enterprise products, with the finger vein wallet positioned as its flagship offering. The product is designed to enhance the security of digital assets, catering to the growing demand for advanced biometric solutions and robust protection in the crypto space.
