Fuse Launches Biometric Access Card with Fingerprint Cards’ T-Shape Sensor for Secure Environments

Fuse Identities has announced a new biometric physical access card powered by Fingerprint Cards’ 1323 T-Shape sensor, with commercial availability expected in July 2025. The card is designed for deployment in high-security environments such as government facilities, corporate offices, and critical infrastructure sites. According to the company, it replaces traditional PINs and passwords with fingerprint-based authentication, enabling secure and seamless physical access.

The card launch builds on Fingerprints’ recent partnership with LEGIC Identsystems, which aims to bring biometric authentication to LEGIC’s widely deployed access control ecosystem. The collaboration is expected to support scalable rollout across enterprise and institutional clients, with joint demonstrations planned for late 2025. Fingerprints’ T-Shape sensor performs on-card biometric matching, which ensures that no biometric data leaves the device—a privacy-forward feature that aligns with GDPR and other data protection standards.

This release comes amid a sharp upswing in Fingerprint Cards’ financial performance. The company reported a doubling of revenue in Q1 2025, following a strategic shift away from the mobile sector to focus on biometric cards, embedded sensors, and physical access technologies.

Fuse Identities’ new card arrives at a time when enterprises are rethinking access security models in response to rising threats and evolving regulatory requirements. The product is positioned alongside a broader industry trend toward seamless biometric authentication, with companies such as ZKTeco recently launching cloud-based platforms like Cielo365 that integrate biometrics into physical and digital access control systems.

Fuse has indicated that the card can support a range of use cases, from daily workplace access to specialized deployments like temporary identification for immigrants – as seen in a pilot program in Denmark. These capabilities suggest potential future expansion into other secure identity scenarios, though the company has not disclosed specific partners or rollouts beyond Europe.

The card’s integration of Fingerprints’ T-Shape sensor comes as biometric access control continues gaining traction across sectors. By combining local matching, enhanced user convenience, and secure credential storage, the system addresses critical challenges in managing physical access without compromising user privacy.
