As the physical access control industry gears up for ISC West in Las Vegas next week (April 2 to 4), providers of the biometric technology that keeps intruders out of where they don’t belong are releasing their big news along with their exhibition floor addresses.
Today, Fujitsu Frontech North America announced that AUTEC GmbH is becoming a value-added integrator for components of PalmEntry physical access control systems. This will have come to fruition on the exhibition floor in the form of AUTEC’s new international airport employee access solution called XMP-PalmCom.
The new access control solution is based on Fujitsu’s award winning PalmSecure technology and is aimed at providing a security solution in airports for the people who work there. PalmSecure uses near-infrared light to capture images of a user’s vascular patterns. It is contactless too, which is a benefit in high-use situations like staff-only areas of international airports.
“From the very beginning we were impressed with the reliability and durability of the PalmEntry hardware compared to other biometric solutions on the market,” according to Roger Poller the CEO of AUTEC GmbH. “We were confident we could install PalmEntry hardware in some of the most challenging locations and environments in the world, and it would perform at a very high level for years to come.”
“We are delighted that AUTEC GmbH has chosen Fujitsu Access Control Technology to complement their array of world-class security solutions,” said Randy Fox, vice president, currency handling and identification product solutions at Fujitsu Frontech North America Inc. “Armed with Fujitsu’s access control components, AUTEC GmbH will now be able to provide a winning value-added solution to their security integration clients and OEM channel.”
Fujitsu PalmSecure technology is used in a wide variety of applications, from laptop access, to laboratory security, to biometric payment terminals. AUTEC GmbH will be presenting its new palm-vein access control solution for airport employees at Fujitsu’s ISC West booth #7054, while the company’s North American reseller, iDor Security, will be demonstrating the biometrc gate in booth #13127.
