“…Fujitsu emphasized its collaboration with ImageWare Systems, characterizing the Biometrics as a Service platform as a result of their partnership. “
Fujitsu has brought its Biometrics as a Service (BIOaaS) platform down under, bringing a suite of biometric authentication options including facial, palm print, and voice recognition to organizations in Australia.
The news comes soon after Fujitsu’s launch of Biometrics as a Service in Canada, Mexico, and South America earlier this year, pointing to a broader expansionary effort on the company’s part. It also arrives soon after Fujitsu’s announcement that it will replace employees’ internal use passwords with biometric authentication, a sign that the company is willing to walk the walk in addition to talking up the benefits of biometric security.
In a statement announcing the Australia launch, Fujitsu emphasized its collaboration with ImageWare Systems, characterizing the Biometrics as a Service platform as a result of their partnership. “Through this agreement with ImageWare Systems, our customers gain access to an enhanced portfolio of biometric security solutions that reduce the barriers to deploying highly secure biometric authentication,” said Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand CEO Mike Foster.
For ImageWare’s part, CEO Jim Miller said the move “extends the reach of ImageWare’s patented, multimodal biometric technology as a core element of Fujitsu’s cyber security portfolio across the globe.”
