FST Biometrics Launches Upgraded IMID Platform

FST Biometrics has launched an upgraded version of its flagship biometric platform. IMID Access v. 3.0.7 now offers improvements to system administration and to the user experience more generally.

The company’s In Motion Identification system uses a combination of facial recognition and behavioral analytics along the lines of gait recognition to passively identify individuals for access control management. Among the upgraded version’s features is IMID Cast, a quick and easy self-enrolment station designed to reduce administrative hassle by letting users immediately set up and activate their own profiles. Additionally, IMID Access 3.0.7 is now compatible with Software House’s C-Cure access control platform.

In a statement, FST Biometrics Product Manager Ilan Krugliak explained that the upgrade “demonstrates our conviction that advanced security systems should work for the user, and not the other way around,” adding that in addition to improving the user experience the “increased capabilities of IMID Access 3.0.7 continue to provide an unparalleled level of security.”

The upgrade’s launch should help to further boost the profile of both the IMID system and its maker, FST Biometrics, which earlier this year raised millions in financing from a prominent investment firm, as well as the backing of former Israeli PM Ehud Barak.

IMID Access is also available in a pared-down mobile version designed as an complementary tool for security personnel.
