FST Biometrics will be presenting two major new products at ISC West in Las Vegas, the company has announced. Both new products are based on its In-Motion Identification (IMID) system.
IMID Mobile is a mobile app that can provide security personnel with valuable supplemental data about the individuals around them. Designed to complement the IMID Access system, it essentially provides the IMID solution on a portable, handheld scale, using FST’s multi-modal system which includes facial, voice, and motion pattern recognition. While that system is normaly used in automated systems for passive authentication purposes – as in its recent deployment at a major Canadian athletic club – it can now provide authorized personnel such as security guards with an easy-to-use means of biometric identification.
IMID Rapid, meanwhile, is a portable system offering similar functionality to the company’s IMID Access system. Whereas IMID Access offers a more comprehensive system on a more permanent installation basis, IMID Rapid offers what the company calls a “well-protected end-to-end portable” solution that can be deployed in a range of environments – including outdoors – in a matter of ten minutes.
Speaking in a press release, FST Biometrics CMO Arie Melamed said that each of the new systems “demonstrates the flexibility of our technology and represents an expansion of our secure access capabilities,” adding that the company has adapted its technology to its users’ needs. As this kind of access control moves further into the mainstream, we could see these kinds of deployments vastly increase over the coming months and years.
