FrankieOne has announced a strategic partnership with Daon that will embed the latter’s multimodal biometrics, liveness detection, and document verification into FrankieOne’s orchestration platform. The integration allows financial institutions and regulated firms to use a single API to escalate checks dynamically as risks such as deepfakes, synthetic identities, and video injection become more prevalent.
FrankieOne says the collaboration is designed to support banks and fintechs in meeting regional compliance standards, including frameworks set by AUSTRAC and APRA in Australia, while aligning with equivalent regulations internationally.
The combined solution integrates Daon’s face, document, and liveness flows into FrankieOne’s orchestration stack, which already routes to more than 350 global data sources and vendors. The aim is to keep onboarding experiences low-friction for most applicants while stepping up to document and biometric verification only when risk signals justify it.
FrankieOne’s Head of Partnerships Kim Wrobel described Daon as a provider of “regulatory-grade data sovereignty” with NIST-tested biometric accuracy, adding that the integration enables firms to escalate to stronger checks, expand into new markets, and maintain user experience. Daon’s APAC EVP John Duggan emphasized that the collaboration simplifies deployment of the right verification tools for each risk profile and jurisdiction.
The partnership comes at a time when financial institutions are under pressure to deliver instant, mobile-first onboarding while defending against increasingly sophisticated impersonation attacks. Spoofed selfies, synthetic documents, and AI-manipulated video are driving a shift away from one-size-fits-all KYC toward dynamic, risk-based verification.
FrankieOne’s orchestration layer is designed to deliver this kind of adaptive flow, and Daon adds another tier of biometric and document verification with global coverage and multiple liveness options. The companies position the integration as directly supportive of Australia’s operational and compliance requirements and as adaptable to international moves toward explainable, auditable risk decisions.
Future developments to watch include how quickly FrankieOne deploys Daon’s newest liveness and document libraries in different markets, whether proof points on false-accept rates and time-to-approval emerge from large financial institutions, and if the integration expands to incorporate voice or behavioral biometrics without adding unnecessary data collection.
