“Fingerprint Cards is a longstanding partner of Zwipe. The two companies announced a strategic partnership back in 2016, which would focus on the development of biometric smart cards.”
Fingerprint Cards is celebrating Zwipe’s new distribution agreement with Silone CardTech, announcing that it has a hand in the collaboration.
The partnership was announced by Zwipe yesterday. It will see Zwipe’s biometric card technology launched by Silone, a China-based card maker that has been certified by Visa, Mastercard, China UnionPay, and JCB. Silone claims some of China’s largest banks and loyalty programs among its clients, and will be targeting the biometric card solution to those sectors.
Fingerprint Cards is a longstanding partner of Zwipe. The two companies announced a strategic partnership back in 2016, which would focus on the development of biometric smart cards. Ultimately, FPC sensors were used in Zwipe’s card solutions. This year, their ties were further solidified when former FPC CEO Jörgen Lantto, who joined Zwipe’s board of directors in late 2016, became its chairman.
Now, commenting on Zwipe’s partnership with Silone in a statement, FPC said it “is happy to support its long-standing partner Zwipe in this project with Fingerprints’ ultra-low power consuming fingerprint sensor, tailored for use in smartcards.”
Zwipe and Silone expect to see their biometric card offering launched in pilot projects in the coming months.
