“This latest smartphone integration maintains strong momentum for both companies as each has announced a string of others over the last several weeks.”
A new smartphone from a Taiwan-based OEM features biometric technology from Fingerprint Cards and Precise Biometrics, though the handset manufacturer is currently unnamed in press communiques.
In separate statements announcing their respective integrations, both companies declined to name the OEM and mobile device in question. But Fingerprint cards has named the specific sensor model being used—the FPC1155, which was also recently integrated into a new device from ZUK. As for Precise Biometrics’ contribution, it’s the same flagship algorithm software that has now been incorporated into a number of devices from a range of OEMs, Precise BioMatch Mobile.
This latest smartphone integration maintains strong momentum for both companies as each has announced a string of others over the last several weeks. It also illustrates the growing preponderance of mobile fingerprint scanners, which at least one market research firm predicts will be on all new smartphones shipped in 2018.
