“Biometric payment cards are an increasingly important focus area for FPC, whose T-Shape sensor is designed to enable fingerprint authentication on a standard, flexible payment card form factor.”
Fingerprint Cards (FPC) is laying the foundation for its next growth phase, with the company announcing plans to open three new global offices.
Two of the regional offices will be established to serve distinct business lines. In Zug, Switzerland, a new office will be focused on facilitating FPC’s efforts in Payments & Access; in its announcement, the biometrics specialist noted that the world’s top three payment card producers are based in Europe.

Another regional office, based in Shanghai, will serve FPC’s Mobile business line efforts, with the company calling the city “the most important economic, financial, trade, and shipping hub in China,” and noting that it’s close to important FPC partners in the mobile sector. The regional office is particularly notable with respect to supply chain concerns affecting the mobile sector, which factored into FPC’s most recent fiscal update, in which CEO Christian Fredrikson indicated that his firm was working to establish relationships with more partners in China.
A third new location in Singapore, meanwhile, will act as a “sales and distribution hub” that will serve operations across multiple markets.
“As we enter the next phase in Fingerprints’ development, I believe that close collaboration and proximity to key customers, suppliers and partners, as well as access to critical talent, will be even more crucial to our success,” Fredrikson said in the company’s latest announcement. “Our new organization will benefit our operations through enhanced organizational flexibility, speed, cost- and cash effectiveness, as well as through a sharper focus on our two individual business lines.”
The organizational expansion will also feature a shuffling of executive personnel. While Fingerprint Cards will remain headquartered in Sweden, Fredrikson and CFO Per Sundqvist will relocate to Zug.
