Fingerprint Cards (FPC) has improved its climate score as it works to deliver more sustainable technology solutions. The news comes courtesy of CDP, which runs the global environmental disclosure system and evaluates private companies and public organizations for their impact on deforestation, water security, and climate change more broadly.
In that regard, the CDP has given FPC a “B” grade in its most recent assessment. FPC boasted that the score is a major step up from its 2019 rating, and makes it an above-average company (both in Europe and internationally) on the eco-friendliness scale.
“Environmental protection and efficient use of resources is an important part of our sustainability framework, and we are committed to improving our performance and reporting in this area,” said FPC President and CEO Christian Fredrikson. “I am pleased that our efforts have been recognized in this way.”
The company’s efforts are part of a broader push for greener technologies in the card industry. Most notably, IDEMIA has launched a new Greenpay portfolio to promote cards made primarily out of recycled PVC materials, and has already agreed to provide the new eco-friendly cards for financial institutions like Nationwide Building Society and BBVA.
FPC, meanwhile, recently announced the launch of its latest T-Shape fingerprint sensor module.
