Fingerprint Cards is again providing the fingerprint biometrics technology for a new Coolpad mobile device. The Coolpad Pro 2 features an FPC1025 sensor running on Precise BioMatch Mobile software provided by Precise Biometrics.
It’s the same setup used on the Coolpad Note 3 Lite, which was launched in mid-January of last year. And multiple Coolpad devices launched last year also featured FPC and Precise Biometrics tech, with smartphones like the Quan Mo Wang and the Coolpad Shine also using the FPC1025 sensor model and Precise BioMatch Mobile.
It’s one example of the kind of longstanding OEM partnerships that have helped to make Fingerprint Cards and Precise Biometrics leading providers of biometric technology to smartphone makers. And while both companies are now looking to expand into other markets such as smart cards, a growing appetite for smartphone biometrics will likely keep this line of business strong for both of them going forward.
