“The new batch of integrations highlights the continuing importance of the mobile biometrics market to Fingerprints’ business, even as the company seeks to expand into new areas such as biometric payment cards.”
A slew of new smartphones feature Fingerprint Cards‘ biometric technology, the company has announced.
The devices come from a range of smartphone brands. They include the Redmi Note 7 Pro from Xiaomi, the F11 and F11 Pro from Oppo, and LG’s K40, K50, and K60 smartphones, all of which use an FPC1511 fingerprint sensor. Meanwhile, Sharp’s Aquos Zero and Aquos R2 Compact each feature an FPC1291 fingerprint sensor.
All of the companies are previous customers of Fingerprint Cards that have used the latter’s sensors in previous devices.
The new batch of integrations highlights the continuing importance of the mobile biometrics market to Fingerprints’ business, even as the company seeks to expand into new areas such as biometric payment cards. And in a statement announcing the integrations, Fingerprints gestured to its longstanding position as a leader in this area, asserting, “With billions of human touches in the hands of millions we are the No1 Biometrics company.”
