Sweden-based biometrics company Fingerprint Cards AB (FPC) has announced the appointment of a new General Counsel. Henrik Sundell, a legal consultant with experience at Ericsson and DeLaval, will join FPC’s ranks this spring.
Speaking in a press release, FPC CEO Jörgen Lantto emphasized the critical timing of the appointment, asserting, “We are in a phase of high growth and we need to strengthen our legal affairs to manage increased business transactions.” For his part, Mr. Sundell commented that he is looking forward to working with “a very exciting company having a leading technology in a market of strong growth.”
And indeed, FPC has been doing well. Late last year, the company struck up a partnership with Atmel Corporation to develop biometric touchscreen technology for integration into smart devices – a move anticipating the rise of the Internet of Things. And last month, FPC teamed with China-based O-Film to have its biometric technology integrated into O-Film’s touch panels. If FPC can continue to attract the attention of big OEMs and other players in the industry, it will certainly enjoy the growth it’s expecting, and may indeed need some guidance from an expert like Mr. Sundell from time to time.
