Four European Payment Providers Sign Up for Trulioo Identity Services

Trulioo has added four new companies to its client roster in Europe. The news will advance the identity provider’s ongoing expansion efforts on the continent.

The four new customers are PayDo, Pollen Technologies, Sokin, and XanderPay, all four of which are payment providers in some capacity. PayDo offers e-wallet services for businesses and individual customers, while Pollen is a white label banking platform and Sokin allows customers to make payments internationally. Finally, XanderPay is a specialist that provides payment services tailored to hotels.

Trulioo, meanwhile, is trying to ramp up its operations after bringing in a whopping $394 million in a recent round of Series D funding. That money pushed Trulioo to unicorn status, and the company is now hoping to capitalize on that to drum up more business overseas. The company will also use the money to increase the size of its staff, and plans to raise the headcount by 300 percent at its offices in Dublin, Ireland.

“Payments providers grapple with facilitating cross-border transactions while meeting ever changing regulatory requirements,” said Trulioo CEO Steve Munford. “Turning to our expertise in global identity verification helps deliver frictionless customer onboarding for real-time payments, fueling the digital economy.”

Trulioo will provide its new customers with identity verification services, which will help them comply with international Know Your Customer requirements. The company is best known for its GlobalGateway solution, which can verify someone’s identity with selfie biometrics. The solution will also check phone records, credit bureaus, and other data sources to analyze risk and provide customers with a higher level of identity assurance.

In the meantime, Trulioo has been making inroads in other parts of the world beyond Europe. GlobalGateway debuted in Pakistan last September, before making its way to Kenya in June. Trulioo has argued that biometric security can help financial institutions deal with the higher rates of fraud in the wake of COVID-19.
