Plurilock has appointed Bryan Cunningham to its Industry Advisory Council. Cunningham, a former White House cyber and national security lawyer, brings a wealth of experience in cybersecurity, national security, and data protection.
Highlights from Cunningham’s career include being one of the first 20 staff members at Palantir and currently serving as the Executive Director of Palantir’s outside advisory board on privacy and civil liberties. He also serves as a Senior Advisor to the Chertoff Group and was the Deputy Legal Adviser to National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice under the Clinton administration.
Cunningham drafted significant portions of the Homeland Security Act, for which he was awarded the National Intelligence Medal of Achievement, and has served on numerous government task forces.
Currently, Cunningham is the Executive Director of the University of California, Irvine’s Cybersecurity Policy & Research Institute. He was also the founding vice-chair of the American Bar Association Cyber Security Privacy Task Force. He is a frequent media commentator on networks such as CNN, Bloomberg, ABC, Fox, CNBC, NPR, and PBS.
In a post on LinkedIn, Plurilock CEO Ian L. Paterson highlighted Cunningham’s extensive expertise and advisory roles with startups and Fortune 500 companies, noting his value to Plurilock and its stakeholders.
For his part, Cunningham has expressed enthusiasm about joining Plurilock, emphasizing the critical role of cybersecurity in national security and praising Plurilock’s comprehensive platform and commitment to protecting sensitive systems.
“A global cyber conflict between democracy and authoritarianism is already under way and, make no mistake, government and private-sector critical infrastructure is in our enemies’ crosshairs,” he said. “Cybersecurity now is national security.”
Last week, Plurilock announced the extension of its professional services engagement with an undisclosed publicly traded semiconductor company listed on both the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 indexes. The latest contract extension adds $294,000 in revenue to the existing agreement.
