A former American Airlines and TSA executive has now joined CLEAR’s ranks: Howard Kass has been named the organization’s SVP of Corporate Affairs.
Kass started working for US Airways in 2003, and was its VP of Legal and Government Affairs when it merged with American Airlines in 2013, at which time he became American Airlines’ VP of Regulatory Affairs. All of that airline experience should prove helpful in Kass’s new role with CLEAR as the firm promotes its biometric expedited screening program across the US, but so will his prior work with the Transportation Security Administration, where he served as Director of Regulatory and Economic Analysis.
In a statement announcing Kass’s appointment, the company did not go into detail about what his primary efforts would entail, but did not that his work will be based in Washington, D.C. The announcement also emphasized CLEAR’s emerging biometric boarding pass solution, which the organization is currently piloting in partnership with Delta Air Lines.
For his part, Kass commented that he is “absolutely delighted” to join the CLEAR team, adding, “I look forward to helping further expand CLEAR’s industry-leading capabilities in aviation and elsewhere.”
