“Jörgen Lantto, meanwhile, served as Fingerprint Cards’ CEO during a period of remarkable growth for that company as it reaped the benefits of the growing mobile fingerprint sensor market.”
Former CEO of Fingerprint Cards Jörgen Lantto is now the head of Zwipe‘s Board of Directors, with Zwipe’s former CEO, Kim Humborstad, serving as Deputy Chairman. The new posts are the result of voting at Zwipe’s latest Annual General Meeting, and are part of a larger set of new arrivals to the company’s board.
In a statement announcing the changes, Zwipe emphasized the “substantial industry and financial experience” of its new board, and said it will serve to support “a sharpened strategy focused on commercial success and growth” as the company “integrates its technology platform within the biometric payment cards market first and then into other verticals, services and form factors such as wearables and IoT devices.” Zwipe technology was used in a major Visa-led pilot project of biometric payment cards earlier this year.
The shakeup comes after Zwipe founder Kim Humborstad stepped down from his role as the company’s CEO earlier this year. Humborstad would remain active in the company, however, taking on a new role as its Chief Growth Officer, and now of course as a member of its Board of Directors.
Jörgen Lantto, meanwhile, served as Fingerprint Cards’ CEO during a period of remarkable growth for that company as it reaped the benefits of the growing mobile fingerprint sensor market. He departed FPC in the summer of 2016, and joined Zwipe’s board that November. In announcing its latest board changes, Zwipe called FPC “one of Zwipe’s key partners supplying fingerprint sensors.”
Other new Zwipe board members include Dorian Barak, Francis van den Bosch, Johan Biehl, and Dennis Jones, while Lars Windfeldt, Espen Tøndel, and Weizi Huang were re-elected to the board.
