Former FBI Senior Executive Named to ImageWare Board of Directors

ImageWare‘s corporate overhaul continues, with the company announcing the appointment of former FBI executive Lauren C. Anderson to its Board of Directors. Anderson’s appointment, which took effect last month, expanded ImageWare’s Board from three members to four.

Anderson served the Bureau as a Legal Attaché at the US Embassy in Paris from 2002 to 2006, and was an Assistant/Interim Special Agent in Charge overseeing a number of investigative and operational programs from 2007 to 2012. Since then, Anderson’s accomplished resume includes roles as a lecturer at the University of Maryland, an Advisor to the U.S. Comptroller General (a position she still holds), and a SheSource Expert for the Women’s Media Center, among other positions. She is currently CEO of LC Anderson International Consulting.

Anderson’s appointment as an Independent Director of the ImageWare Board comes after James Demitrieus and Benjamin Smeal were added to the Board in November. Taylor, who serves at the board chair, has been overhauling the executive leadership of ImageWare since her appointment as CEO in early 2020. Other recent hires include new CFO Jay B. Lewis, and Vice President of Go-To-Market and Portfolio Strategy AJ Naddell.

ImageWare has also been keeping busy on the product side of things, announcing recently that its GoVerifyID solution would be rebranded as ‘ImageWare Authenticate‘, and unveiling a new access control solution developed in collaboration with Safe-T Group earlier this week.

For her part, in commenting on her new role as a Board member, Anderson noted that the need for reliable identity management solutions is on the rise, particularly with the boom in remote work, and praised ImageWare’s solutions.

“With a reputation for providing the most secure, accurate and fastest biometrics offerings in the industry, ImageWare has a real opportunity to take share in a rapidly growing market,” she said. “I’m looking forward to playing a strategic role in expanding our government and international presence as we further commercialize our industry-leading portfolio of solutions.”
